National Gallery of Canada

The National Gallery of Canada has works from around the world, but is a showcase for Canadian art. A particularly beautiful collection is one donated by Dr. James MacCallum, friend and supporter of Tom Thomson. In 1948, his collection of Thomson paintings were bequeathed to the gallery, and later, panels from his Georgian Bay cottage were brought to Ottawa. These paintings by Thomson, MacDonald and Lismer are displayed in a recreated cottage interior.

Here are 42  paintings and 9 pencil drawings, many of Thomson family members, from an early sketch book.
